Yep, that's what I have! I'm not sure how I got so lucky to have such a great person as my Mother. I believe the older I get, the more I appreciate her. 'Cause I can tell you back in the day, I was not the "bestest" daughter. Mwah - Love you MOM!
For Mother's Day this year, I made her a card and a "watering can". I have to say I really like the way this card turned out that I made for her. Don't get me wrong, I'm usually happy with my cards (or I would never send them out), but I'm really happy how this one looks. I'm not sure if there's something specific about it or just the total look, but I'll have to list this as one of my favorites. Anyhoo, I used another Tilda image...I just love her, she's just so darn cute! As soon as I saw the Tilda with flower pot stamp I immediately knew it was perfect for my Mom (oh yeah, she's addicted to flowers...her yard is impeccable). For the card, I used PTI for the solid paper and the digi papers are from Raspberry Road Designs. The flowers are both Wild Orchid and Prima. OK, yet another obsession of mine...Wild Orchid flowers!! Oh my, they are to die for!! The ribbon is seam binding that I colored by misting with water and "stamping" the Melon Berry inkpad on it, love this technique. And I paper pieced Tilda's coat...time to 'fess up. I hadn't intended on doing this, but once I finished coloring her coat I was not happy with the look of it (I do admit I am NOT a good colorist (is that the word?), I do try however, LOL). Instead of stamping the image again and starting over, I just decided to "cover-up" the mistake.
And like this wasn't enough I added some flower soft to her flower pot...just because. And if that wasn't enough (phew!), I had found this cute charm and just had to use it!!! OK, after typing all this, did I go overboard on this card? Hmmm? Maybe, Maybe not...but this just might be why I like it...very busy looking!
For the inside I added some butterflies (yet another kick I've been on lately), a lacey oval spellbinders die and some more ribbon.
Oh yeah, I mentioned I also made her a watering can. Yep, you read that right, a watering can. I got the pattern from MyTimeMadeEasy and cut it on Mortimer! (oh how I love my Mortimer). I usually do a test cut using scrap paper and tweak it as necessary so when I go to the "real" paper I know exactly what I'm doing, but I was crunched for time so just went in full steam ahead. At least now I know when I use this file again, I must do some tweaking to make it work like I think it should. But I'm satisfied with the outcome...
I put a cute little butterfly on it and some ribbon (or course!!) and voila..a cute little watering can!
(and I made a gift card holder and put it inside the watering can. It fit just perfect!)
I'm pretty sure my Mother will like this...anything with flowers tend to make my Mom happy! So here's to my MOM! Happy Mother's Day!!

This is so beautiful. Everyone already said it so I won't repeat but just had to tell you I thought it was beautiful too.
Paula, your mum will absolutely love this! I love the co-ordinating colours on the card and the watering can (what a smashing idea that was to do a watering can for a keen gardener!) - the whole thing is so pretty and feminine.
Thank you SO MUCH for your lovely lovely comments on my blog! We did have an awesome time for our Silver Wedding and I've got so many happy memories of the occasion to look back on! Glad you liked the card I made for my hubby's birthday too. Next project is another mechanical one for my dad - this time a volvelle if I can get it to work - never done one before!
Gorgeous card and love the paper piecing on this image. It's an adorable creation. Thanks for sharing :o)
