"Anyway, you can't tame dragons, it's dangerous"

Or so Ron Weasley thinks. But I think this cute little dragon isn't dangerous at all. I think he just wants to be loved!
I can't believe how long it has been since I've posted anything! The sad part is I haven't really done much since the last post. Life has been crazy busy and this means my fun time has been pretty much non-existent. BUT I am hoping to change this, starting NOW! I'm off today, so I have to run a few errands this morning and then I'm home to play ALL weekend! Yeah me!
I have another project for a SWAP I'm doing. It's with my CraftyCardCreators yahoo group and the theme is something purple. So my partner for this month is Jill. After I cased her blog, I saw that she likes dragons. And well we all know purple and dragons go together, right? At least it does for this little fella. His name is Clyde and he seems to be a friendly dragon (or at least I hope so, for Jill's sake).  He's a Bugaboo stamp and the wonderful thing about Bugaboo is that there are embroidery files for a lot of their stamps! I had fun with this one! Dragons are definitely out of my comfort range, but I couldn't resist Clyde.
Here's the card, it's purple (or maybe more of a lavender...) but I think it fits for the purple SWAP. And don't you just love this dragonfly (and of course, Clyde has his own dragonflies!!) It's a Magnolia DooHickey die that I got from StampingScrapping. I had been eye-ing this die for a while but just never got it! But once I found Clyde, well he was screaming (do dragons scream?) for his own dragonfly so I now had a reason to buy it. (oh, if you want the amazing service, go see Cindy over at StampingScrapping!)  As for the sentiment, it's a Papertrey Ink stamp that I though fit this card perfect! AND I actually sewed on this card. It's something I want to do more often but I seem to not feel like setting up the sewing machine (I have one that is strictly for paper use and when not in use, it goes hides under my desk). I must really force myself to do this on more cards. I really like the effect on cards.
Oh and I mentioned something about the embroidery files. I found Clyde had already been digitized so I went and snatched him up. And of course I put him on a purple little bag that I had gotten eons back from Michaels. On the back side of the bag, I embroidered Jill's name and threw on a dragonfly (to keep Clyde company). I had found a dragon charm so I attached him with simple thread and topped it off with a gorgeous purple crocheted flower from Angie (I put a brad for the center of the flower - kinda  like the one Clyde is offering).

I'm putting this in the mail today so Jill should get it sometime next week (unfortunately, she lives on the other side of the country so I might have to poke holes in the box to give Clyde some air during his trip to his new home, hee-hee). I sure hope Jill likes it. I had A LOT of fun putting this package together!

oh and if I don't post again before Sunday, I'm wishing all Mom's (past, present and future) a HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
