What's Cooking

Wow, can't believe it's been so long since I posted anything.  I have been playing a little (not nearly as much as I would like!)  I have two SWAPS that I have just completed. And yes, once again..I was "fashionably" late, hee-hee. But they are in the mail and both to deliver tomorrow (well let's wait and see on one of them. It has to go to California and somehow I don't think that it is only 2 days delivery...but I could be pleasantly surprised.)  When I signed up for these 2 SWAPs they sounded very easy: one was "Anything Goes" and the other was "Button and Bows". Sounds easy, huh? Well not if you are me! I tend to wayyyy over-think things! It really did take me awhile to come up with what I wanted to do. And even while I was doing it, I kept second guessing myself - UGH!! But in the end, I think I'm happy with what I sent..you'll have to tell me if you agree!
For the Anything Goes, I had this ADORABLE Mo's Digital stamp and she was screaming to be colored. So I decided to go with the cooking theme (wow, am I creative or what, LOL!!) The sentiment in the card was a "recipe" I found for friendship online and I think it works perfectly.
I threw in some extra crafty goodies and another surprise (I was fashionably late). I found an apron in Michael's one day and ideas just started pouring in....
I had the cutest "Sassy Girl" file and thought she would go perfect with the little girl. I put the "Keep your kitchen clean, eat out" on the apron, embroidered Judy's name, added some ribbon and voila...a cute little apron!
Oh, I did say two SWAPS! I try to keep them somewhat similar (why? I don't really know, maybe part of my "everything must match" fixation). So this was for "Buttons and Bows".  After really struggling with this one, I finally settled on a Papertrey Ink image.
You probably can't tell from the pic, but I cut out the daffodil and used pop-dots to make it stand out (I promise you I really did.) And like the other one, I threw in some crafty goodies and an apron.  I know, what does an apron have to do with daffodils? Well, you can use the apron while gardening...sounds good to me!  Of course, Michaels was out of aprons so after searching around for over a week I finally found one at Bed, Bath and Beyond (Wish I had known this before I did the first one).  I embroidered a daffodil and added Shirley's name and put some ribbon on it and another apron done! (I had thought about adding the sentiment from the card, but with the way the apron is, it would be lost in the wrapping around of the ties).
Well, that's it for now...off to make some other surprises!  Keep checking back.
Have a great week (and try to stay cool)
